Principal's Message

ADHS is home to 200 students from grades 7 to 12. Athens is a comprehensive high school offering courses in core and optional subjects as well as a full range of sports teams and extracurricular activities.

As a small high school, we pride ourselves on providing an individualized educational program for our students. We know our students as people and are aware of how they learn. That means we can work with their strengths and needs to help them achieve the UCDSB goal of preparing all students for a successful life. As a result, the vast majority of students who attend Athens District High School graduate on time with their peers.  When they graduate, our students are prepared for their next step – whether that be the world of work, college or university. To this end, we offer educational pathways for essential learning, college preparation and university preparation.

Like every school in the Upper Canada District School Board, Athens DHS is constantly working to improve the wellness and the learning of staff and students. As the principal, I believe that this ongoing commitment on the part of the teaching staff to a continuous cycle of improvement is an integral aspect of making ADHS a great place to learn. You can find the latest iteration of our SIPSAW plan here.

ADHS continually strives to build upon our past success and to assist our students in meeting their academic, social and emotional challenges as they prepare for graduation.
